According to the 2023 American Community Survey (ACS), North Carolina is home to over 1 million foreign-born residents.1 Immigrants are a particularly significant part of the Asian American community in North Carolina, with nearly 60 percent of the population born abroad.2 The Asian American immigrant population is incredibly diverse, representing over 20 ethnicities and over 40 languages.
The rights of Asian American immigrants are tied with the rights of all immigrants. We work in coalition with several local and national groups to protect and advocate for immigrant justice.
