Since 2016, NCAAT has been building community and empowering Asian American voices across lines of difference. Our vision is for a more inclusive democracy built by drawing on the strength of diverse traditions, common values and community togetherness. To do this, we work within a cross-racial, cross-ethnic framework focused on grassroots power and solidarity.
Our programs are built for community members of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. From youth workshops, to citizenship clinics, to political advocacy and more – there’s a way for you to get involved.

There are currently over 450,000 North Carolinians who identify as AAPI, including people from over 20 Asian ethnicities and nationalities who speak over 40 languages.
58.8% of Asian American adults in N.C. speak a language other than English at home. 28.2% of Asian American adults in NC are Limited English Proficient (LEP). The work being done by NCAAT and our partners are essential in bridging the gap posed by language access barriers.
The population of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in N.C. grew 68.4% between 2010 and 2020 according to the U.S. Census. As part of the fastest-growing racial group in North Carolina, we’re doing the work to increase civic engagement among this critical demographic.
NCAAT has worked with 18 colleges.
